National Credit Union Foundation confirms $250k for Hurricane Ida relief

Following an initial commitment of $100,000 from its CUAid disaster relief program, the National Credit Union Foundation (the Foundation) has today confirmed an additional grant of $150,000 will be made to the Louisiana Credit Union League to support credit union employees and volunteers affected by Hurricane Ida.

“This is exactly what CUAid is designed to do,” said Danielle Brown, Director of Engagement at the Foundation. “The program exists to provide rapid support and whether that’s in one fell swoop or over the course of several grants, if it helps people when they need it the most then it’s working.”

Historically, the Foundation would solicit CUAid donations in the wake of a natural disaster. In 2017 the program was restructured to provide immediate response.
