Fiserv Gives Back to Biz Kid$ During 2021 CUNA GAC

Fiserv Gives Back Biz Kids Competition

Credit unions understand both the importance of financial education and the necessity of investing in their communities. That is why Fiserv, CUNA and the National Credit Union Foundation are teaming up to change the financial futures of the next generation by empowering young people across the country to participate in a virtual Biz Kid$ business plan competition.

Biz Kid$ is a credit union-funded initiative designed to educate, inspire and motivate kids of all ages to learn about money, credit, taxes, business, and becoming young entrepreneurs. It energizes kids to dive into their passions, evaluate opportunities around them and take charge of their financial future.

The initiative includes an award-winning TV series, free classroom curriculum and activities for each episode, outreach activities and website. Biz Kid$ was created by the same team that produced “Bill Nye the Science Guy” and teaches kids about money in the same manner Bill Nye taught kids about science. In addition to the TV series, there are online games to make the learning even more fun, a helpful blog for parents to expand the learning at home, and a guide to help kids start on their own business plans.

Business plan competitions are a great way for kids to apply the financial knowledge from Biz Kid$ into a creative, passion-filled business concept. With support from Fiserv GAC Give Back, the Foundation will kick off a national Biz Kid$ showcase in April where kids can practice both financial education and entrepreneurial skills and put what they have learned into action.

Fiserv has been a steadfast partner of the Foundation at the giveback initiatives during the CUNA GAC in the past. In 2020, Fiserv invited and led GAC attendees in assembling backpacks on behalf of Blessings in a Backpack and to make teddy bears for children of deployed service people. You can read more about the giveback and the impact here.

The Give Back activity at GAC was inspired by Fiserv Gives Back, through which Fiserv supports the local communities where Fiserv associates live and work, with a focus on making an impact in areas of financial health, education, environmental stewardship, and health and wellness.

Thank you, Fiserv for your continued support!
