You’ve Downloaded the CUAid App – Now What?
We hope you have heard about the Foundation’s new, free CUAid Disaster Recovery app. In collaboration with PSCU, the Foundation launched a free CUAid Disaster Recovery app, generously funded by CUNA Mutual Group and FIS and developed by CU-APPS. In the true spirit of cooperation among cooperatives, the CUAid app was a collaborative effort with the common goal of strengthening our industry in the face of disaster.
The app has four major functions:
- CONNECT to find and share needed resources with credit unions during times of disasters
- REPORT a disaster to the National Credit Union Foundation
- PREPARE a checklist to prepare your credit union for a disaster and the content for “connect” database
- DONATE to CUAid to help others recover from natural disasters
If you’ve downloaded the app, you might be wondering what’s next?
The power of the app lies within the PREPARE section, and we hope if you have downloaded the app that you will take the time to complete this checklist. The PREPARE section of the app not only helps your organization to strengthen their internal disaster preparedness, but it also provides the database with content for the CONNECT section.
By completing the PREPARE section, you are not only setting your own organization up for success when faced with a natural disaster but you could potentially provide critically needed resources to another credit union. This is what the app is designed to do – serve as a mediator “matching” service to help credit unions get back up and runner faster in order to serve members.
