National Credit Union Foundation Seeks Board Member Nominations

MADISON, WI (September 27, 2024)The National Credit Union Foundation (the Foundation) is inviting applications to fill four volunteer positions on its Board of Directors. 

The Foundation relies on a dedicated and proactive Board to guide its initiatives and enhance the financial well-being of all credit union members. 

“The strategic vision and dedication of our Board of Directors are vital to advancing the Foundation’s mission. Their leadership not only drives our initiatives but also ensures that we effectively support the entire credit union system,” said Gigi Hyland, Foundation Executive Director. 

Available positions include four open seats for election. The open seats are comprised of: 

  • Seat 6 – Credit Union Executive or Director. This seat is currently held by David Birky of Interra Credit Union. He is seeking re-election as an incumbent.

Qualifications: Must currently be and remain an executive officer or director of a credit union.  

  • Seat 12 – Director or Executive Officer of a national organization. This seat is currently held by Dean Young of Velera. He is seeking re-election as an incumbent.

Qualifications: Must be and remain a director or executive officer of an organization that is national in scope, that has as its primary purpose support of credit unions or some element of the credit union movement, that has a significant portion of its ownership or membership from the credit union system and that has demonstrated a commitment to the purposes of the Foundation.  

  • Seat 13 – Credit union executive or director or system affiliate or at-large 

Qualifications: Must be and remain (i) an executive officer or director of a credit union, or (ii) a director or executive officer of an organization that is national in scope, that has as its primary purpose support of credit unions or some element of the credit union movement, that has a significant portion of its ownership or membership from the credit union system and that has demonstrated a commitment to the purposes of the Foundation, or (iii) a representative of an organization outside of the credit union system that has demonstrated a commitment to the purposes of the Foundation (“At-large”).  

  • Seat 15 – Credit union executive or director or system affiliate or at-large 

Qualifications: Must be and remain (i) an executive officer or director of a credit union, or (ii) a director or executive officer of an organization that is national in scope, that has as its primary purpose support of credit unions or some element of the credit union movement, that has a significant portion of its ownership or membership from the credit union system and that has demonstrated a commitment to the purposes of the Foundation, or (iii) a representative of an organization outside of the credit union system that has demonstrated a commitment to the purposes of the Foundation (“At-large”).  

Applications will be accepted until October 25, 2024.
