Financial Counseling: Enhanced FiCEP

Leveraging the Credit Union Difference

The Foundation helps credit union volunteers and professionals understand how to “keep purpose constant” in our movement through:

Credit Union Development Education (DE) Program

Leveraging the Credit Union Difference Session Materials

Uniting Resources to Help Credit Union People During Disaster

Through CUAid, the Foundation raises disaster relief donations to support credit union employees and volunteers who suffer unrecoverable losses.

CUAid: Disaster Relief
The National Credit Union Foundation is able to leverage funds from many credit unions to tackle issues and opportunities that are difficult for any single credit union to tackle. From financial literacy projects, grants, philosophy training, to the Biz Kid$ television show, the Foundation is often an incubator of ideas that are important to our social mission and is one of the credit union movement’s best examples of collaboration for the benefit of our members and communities.

Foundation Calls for Proposals from CUs to Develop Financial Health KPIs

The National Credit Union Foundation is looking for credit unions to submit proposals to work with the Center for Financial Services Innovation (CFSI) to develop financial health-related key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the financial health and business impacts of their products and services. The deadline for credit unions to submit their applications is April 6, 2018.

CFSI is a national authority on consumer financial health. In 2017, the Foundation funded six credit unions to measure the financial health of their members, using CFSI’s financial health segmentation methodology.

On the Blog: 2017 - A Year of Disasters

2017 was a year of unprecedented disasters. Within a few weeks of each other, we were struck with Hurricane Harvey, Irma, Maria and the California Wildfires. The Foundation activated CUAid to assist the credit union people affected by these disasters, and the outpouring of support we received was astounding.

The credit union community did not hesitate to step up and demonstrate the credit union philosophy of “people helping people”. Since CUAid was activated, over $2.8 million has been raised for these four disasters – WOW. Thank you to all who donated, you truly made a difference.
