CUNA Training Raises $5,000 for NCUF Charity Efforts

CUNACUNA is proud to announce a donation of $5,000 to the charitable efforts of the National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF). This donation was assembled by credit unions nationwide through participation in CUNA training courses during the month of April.

This spring, in an effort to improve the financial lives of those in need, CUNA pledged to donate $1, up to $5,000, to the NCUF charity mission for each CUNA print and online course taken in April during Financial Literacy Month. Over the course of the month, more than 16,000 courses were taken by credit unions from 44 states to make a nationwide difference and uphold the guiding credit union purpose of “People helping people”. NCUF is splitting the funds with state credit union foundations to benefit all of their efforts to improve people’s financial lives.

“It’s an honor to be able to make this contribution toward the noble pursuits of the National Credit Union Foundation,” said Marlo Foltz, VP of Blended Learning, CUNA, “and to know that it came about through the advancement of credit unions nationwide. We’re proud to consider ourselves a part of the NCUF mission and of all the credit unions that contributed toward this donation.”

Since 1980, the NCUF has served as the philanthropic and social responsibility leader of America's credit union movement, making grants, providing disaster relief, managing programs and providing education to empower consumers. Donations to the Foundation enable credit unions to help their members reach life-changing goals and achieve financial freedom.

“Continuing education and training for credit union professionals is so important. I want to thank each and every credit union who participated in training this April as part of the 'Pay it Forward' campaign,” said Gigi Hyland, NCUF Executive Director. “Your hard work and dedication will go a long way in helping NCUF and state credit union foundations improve people's financial lives.”
